We run six guided packages across mainland West Sumatra, from a one-day Padang city tour to five-day heritage and geopark trips. Every trip is planned and led by our Padang-based local team, with private transport, fixed USD prices and direct booking on WhatsApp, so there is no agency fee added on top.
Which areas does West Sumatra Tours cover?
We cover mainland West Sumatra: Padang, Bukittinggi, Harau Valley, Tanah Datar, Sawahlunto, the Mandeh coast, the lakes and Padang Pariaman. We do not run trips to other island groups, so everything we offer is built around places our team knows well and can reach by road or short boat transfer.
How many people can join a tour?
Tours are small-group only, with up to 8 guests per trip and 4 on the Padang City tour. Groups of 1-4 travel by Innova Reborn and groups of 5-8 by Hiace, both with a driver. Solo travelers are welcome on every package, and you never share a vehicle with strangers.
What are the booking and payment terms?
A 50% deposit confirms your booking and the balance is due 7 days before departure. Prices are listed in USD, fixed all year and include no booking fee. After you book on WhatsApp we send payment details privately and confirm the exact amount in writing before you pay anything.
Where do tours depart from?
All trips start in Padang, with pickup from your hotel or from Minangkabau International Airport (BIM). When you book we confirm the exact time and meeting place with you in writing, and we share your driver's contact details before the trip so arrival day runs smoothly even if your flight changes.
Do you offer custom itineraries?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates, interests and group size, and we will combine parts of our packages or add a destination you have in mind. There is no planning fee, and we always confirm the route, the vehicle, the accommodation and the final price in writing before you pay a deposit.
