Distances between sites range from 90 minutes (Bukittinggi, Batusangkar) to over two hours (Harau Valley via Payakumbuh). A private guide with a car is significantly more practical than public transport for a short trip.
Combining With Mentawai
Many travelers extend their trip to the Mentawai Islands, reached by ferry from Muaro Padang. West Sumatra Tours covers the mainland only and does not offer Mentawai tours.
